Parking

Lot A (West Campus) + Assembly Hall (If Available)

Humber College - WordCamp Toronto 2015 Map

The entrance to Lot A is just off Twenty Second Street south of Lake Shore Blvd. West. Twenty Second Street is the street immediately west of Kipling Ave. Turn south at the lights and head down a short way. There shouldn’t be an attendant, so drive right through and park in the north-east section of the lot.

Take the eastbound path to Col. Samuel Smith Park Drive. Building L is just south of the path on the opposite side of the street.

  • Parking is absolutely free! Park in the Humber Lakeshore West lot (entrance is on 23rd Street) and take the pedestrian path to the Humber Lakeshore East campus.
  • Additional free parking is available in the following Green P lots:
1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive (Just north of L building)
65 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive (South of L building towards the water)

Accessibility

The L building is fully accessible with wheelchair ramps and elevator access to all floors. If you require assistance, one of our organizers or volunteers will be happy to help. (More info to come about our accessibility initiative for 2014!)

Security

The venue is monitored 24/7 by campus security. That said, WordCamp Toronto and Humber College are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. This is an active campus; people will be coming and going throughout the event. Be safe, keep your belongings with you.

The security office is located in the Tim Hortons building opposite the L building’s main entrance.

Tim Hortons

  • There’s a Tim Hortons outside the L Building. (Yes, this is important.)

Nearby Accommodations

Attendees of previous WordCamps have stayed at Stay Inn Suites. This is a convenient choice if you’re driving into town and want to stay somewhere relatively close to the venue.

Rooms start at $99 per night for a single.  (Unfortunately we haven’t been able to secure a discount rate for WordCamp Toronto this year.)

Alternative Option: Downtown Hotels / AirBNB

Our after party (see below) will be taking place in downtown Toronto, not far from Union Station. As Nuit Blanche will be taking place during the same weekend as WordCamp, chances are downtown hotels will be quite busy.

If you would prefer to stay downtown, you can take the Lakeshore West GO train from Union Station to Mimico or Longbranch stations. Humber College’s Lakeshore Campus is a short cab ride (or Uber trip!) from either station.

WordCamp Toronto After Party

Duke of Devon

Our annual after-party will be taking place in downtown Toronto at the Duke of Devon pub. A short walk from Union Station, this’ll also be at the heart of our city’s annual Scotiabank Nuit Blanche festivities.
